Faith Kirkham Hawkins, Ph.D.

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Chief of Staff

Faith Kirkham Hawkins, Ph.D. (she/her) is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Chief of Staff. In this role, she has responsibility for integrating all Office of Research Affairs operations, management of divisional and financial resources, and strategic planning on all matters of interest to the Vice Chancellor, including policy, programs, public and government relations, and research development. She was formerly Associate Vice President for Research Development and Strategic Initiatives at Indiana University, where she had primary oversight of the university’s Grand Challenges Program, system-wide internal funding programs, and university research centers and institutes. She received her undergraduate degree from Smith College (Massachusetts), her master’s degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and her Ph.D. from Emory University. Prior to moving into research administration at Indiana University, she served on the faculty at Emory University and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minnesota).
